The second fresco on the north wall shows the founding of the dioserce of Bremen by Emperor Charlemagne and Bishop Willehad around 780 AD. Both men are shown holding on to the cathedral as it was seen by the painter (presumably by Bartholomäus Bruyn the Elder) in 1532. The picture lends greater emphasis to the status of the emperor. The text below the picture recounts Bremen history.
