Reserved Elegance of the Kaminsaal (Fireplace Room)

This picture shows the Fireplace Room
The Fireplace Room

A warming fire has never burned in this beautiful fireplace of French marble. The fireplace, which lent this room of new Rathaus its name, is pure decoration.
It is ornamented with porcelain tiles from the famous factory in Delft, Netherlands. A magnificent clock and delicate vases decorate the mantelpiece. These are gifts from the citizens of Bremen to the Senat on occasion of the opening of new Rathaus in 1913.

The dark red silk wallpaper, the white stuccoed ceiling and the splendid crystal chandelier create a festive, cultivated atmosphere. The old oil paintings stand out most effectively from the red colored walls.

The room is especially suitable for smaller festivities and receptions. Guests sit comfortably on leather chairs that show the symbol of the key, Bremen´s coat of arms.
